Hello, My computer has been acting strange. When I put the password in, it loads just the desktop wallpaper and not the icons or the toolbar and "start". Now I can't access any of my programs because it says that the it can't find the need .exe file. Do I need to format my hard drive? I run win XP

Do you run an updated virus progam? Firewall? Broadband connection?
It is hard for anyone to say you have a virus (or exactly what happened for that matter). Maybe someone got on your system and deleted some windows files?
Try the XP recovery console. Maybe it can repair windows for you. If you did not install the recovery console, run it from the cd. Make sure the cd is the first boot option in the bios, insert the XP cd and restart the pc. Follow the on-screen directions for Recovery Console.
