Hi,
I left a message a couple of days ago which a couple of people replied to but as it seems to have disapeared I thought I'd post again.
I aquired the win32:dialer.f virus over the weekend and seem to have removed it ok, Avast caught it & killed it. I've scanned my system again several times with Avast and various online scanners and they say my system is clean but I've still got a few nagging doubts...
1) I've just had broadband installed so I don't use dialup any more. Do dialer viruses only use a telephone dialup connection or can they also use Broadband DSL?
2) Every scanner I've tried says my system is clean and there no longer appears to be any trace of win32:dialer.f, how do I know that it's gone for good?
3) What are the chances that it's changed any of my system/connection settings and how would I find out?
If anyone has any thoughts on the above I'd be very grateful if you could submit a response.
Thanks,

Dialer programs use your dialup modem, not your cable connection. With broadband the only use you would still have for the standard modem is for faxing.
Feel free to uninstall the modem drivers and your worries will be over.
