thanx in advanced on any info you can provide me.

I have a D-Link wireless 2.4GHz router and various units through my house. I don't have any way of configuring the firewall either, but it definitely is working. D-Link should have given you a toll-free support number, best thing is to call them because they know the quirks of their product and can fill you in.

hi,
thanx for the response.i was able to find this site for dlink.it says you cannot disable the firewall on their products so im guessing it means it is turned on.http://support.dlink.com/faq/view.asp?prod_id=1329&question=FIREWALL
i reran the portscan at sheildsup and usually my sygate gets hit with port scan attempts.it came up without a hit so the firewall is working.
thanx again ranchhand.

I have the di-604 router. Its awesome! You should stealth port 113 coz it will come open with the factory settings for irc n stuff. Here's how u do it:

Also, when u first log into the router, the login and pwd is 'admin' for both. Change the password as soon as u log in the first time. Now ur all set!

Yeah, and as long as you are changing the admin password, you may as well enable 128 bit encryption also. Good protection.
