Hi I recently had excessive malicious activity on my computer. The entire infection has been cleared up however my usb ports won't detect a webcam or digital camera. As soon as I plug them in nothing happens. I've checked them internally and everything is connected properly so I navigated to my device manager and that was blank. Any suggestions???

Do you mean there is no mention of USB in your device manager?

Do you have SP2 installed?

I clicked control panel>system>hardware>device manager> and the entire thing is blank. When I go to Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools> System Information>Components>Storage>USB They are listed. I tried to reactivate Plug and Play and set it to automatic then restart my pc but that had no effect it's still blank and also I do have service pack 2.

Go to Add-Remove programs and remove Contexet Plus from it. Restart and the issue may be resolved.

If this resolves it you have probably got more spyware on your computer.
