Desperate Need help - winlogon.exe

I am getting the following message when I try to start my computer.... winlogon.exe Application Error The instruction at "0x7c91a237" referenced memory at "0x00000030". The memory could not be "read". Click ok to terminate the program Click on cancel to debug the problem
When I do either of the above I get the blue screen of death. If I start the computer in the safe mode nothing seems to work, the windows screen does not come up.......safe mode appears in the four corners, the same message as above appears and nothing works. I am running windowsxp media edition 2005. Please help !!
