Hi people
There is definitly a virus that has tuck itself to me desktop. If you right click on desktop no options apear e.g. for settings, arrange icons, etc. Just things like go to web page and view source. I viewed the source, deleted all text and saved. Then i deleted the file on my hard drive but it keeps re generating. Can anyone help me remove this annoying thing because it's really slowing down the performance.
Thanks a million!

Just update and run the free spware progs like:
Spybot S&D,
Spyware Blaster
Adaware SE
and free Active X On-line Spyware Scan
and remove all it finds
That will give you a headstart on your problem

Hopefully my advice will help you...Please post back with your results....thanks

You said you tried most programs....which ones?

What is the name of the file and the path of where it is? You say it keeps re-generating.
Post that, and maybe someone can help you.

Hopefully my advice will help you...Please post back with your results....thanks

geordiejack, It's possible that Active Desktop is enabled. To Disable Active Desktop. Open the Control Panel.
Open Display Properties.
Click the Desktop tab.
Click the Customize Desktop button.
Click the Web tab in the Desktop Items window.
Make sure all checkboxes in this window are un-checked including My Current Homepage.
Restart your computer

geordiejack, Under the Web tab in the Desktop Items window is "My Current Homepage" the only item listed? If there are more items what are they?
