I HAVE read all posts concerning this matter but none suit me!! I log on but no desktop icons appear, nor taskbar. NOTHING except the wallpaper. I've checked the processes in Task Mgr, but they don't contain sysu.exe. I ran AVG, scanned the whole computer -no threats. Last thing I was trying to do was install a new theme for winxp. I can't explore any folders! If i try to open a folder it opens up that 'open with' window!!

I also tried looking for a ddm file, but no luck.

I also can't right click on desktop.

Hello shamsaur, Can you post your log please? If it do not work in normal mode you can do it safe mode. Download the "HijackThis" Installer from this link: http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/e... 1. Save " HJTInstall.exe" to your desktop. 2. Double click on HJTInstall.exe to run the program. 3. By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis. 4. Accept the license agreement by clicking the "I Accept" button. 5.Click on the "Do a system scan and save a log file" button. It will scan and then ask you to save the log. 6. Click "Save log" to save the log file and then the log will open in Notepad. 7. Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log. 8. Paste the log in your next reply. 9. Do NOT have HijackThis fix anything yet! Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required. Hiya shamsaur Take a look at the link below, follow the instructions in response #4. It should reset your task bar and desktop. http://www.computing.net/answers/se... The download is vbs script which resets some registry values back to default. Let us know if this helps.
