desktop icons & address bar missing

Specs: Windows XP
I downloaded some content from net and the next time I restarted my comp.I could not see any of the desktop icons,control panel,search,run and the address bar and the C drive in my computer.i performed a scan from trojan remover.After that i retreived back control panel,search, run and C drive.But the C drive is not accessible.giving an error message that no admin rights.address bar is still not present.the desktop items are still not accessible and visible.i am in a fix and i dont know wat to do.Even the address bar in the internet explorer is missing.hmm..Please help me out in this

hi,
take task manager and try to run explorer.exe from newtask..
if its not ruuning

take a scan with combofix which can be downloaded from..

www.combofix.org

and dowload some registry scan of fix tool..

and reply for further help..

If you can run System Restore, do that and Restore to a time before the problem started.
