How To Add Wordpad Icon To Desktop

I want an a Wordpad icon to appear on my desktop when the computer boots How to do this simply

      Right click the task bar > Tool bars > select ‘Quick Launch’ if it isn’t already selected.

      Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > drag and drop ‘Word Pad’ to the quick Launch tray next to the Start button.
