desktop backgound /spywarewallpaper

Hello,
My pc got hit by spyware but after getting rid of it it has left a wall paper message on my desktop backgound . when i go to control panel/display then desktop tab it won't allow me to change the backgound. is they a way round this .

use a program like spybot search and destroy that will probably delete that. or you can try to do a system restore to get your system back to normal if you want.

lamptec, Go into your "Display Properties" and under the "Desktop" tab click the "Customize Desktop" button under the "Web" tab remove everything EXCEPT "My Current Homepage" which should be unchecked, click OK/Apply/OK

lamptec, Found this in the thread at the link below.

I had the same problem. I ran spysweeper and still couldn't change the wallpaper. Then I opened up regedit and navigated to the following entry:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
"Wallpaper"=SZ:C:\WINDOWS\desktop.html

I deleted this key(I suggest backing it up first), everything seems fine now.

Hey Lamptec,

I think there is a very Easy Solution to your problem... Just download the file in the link below and after extracting it, run the Desktop.bat file... Then try to change your Desktop Background (It should Work):
