Hi, I have a really annoying problem that i cannot seem to find any information on when i google it. I hope someone can help. Or suggest anything.
When i boot up the pc it boots up but no desktop icons or tool bar appears. So basically it is just the wallpaper and nothing else. Also at the same time a message shows up saying -
DEP has closed the following application - Microsoft Corp "Attribution Utility".
Now I Googled the name Attribution Utility and got nothing. I can't find out what it is, where i can find it on my system or how to remove it. It isn't listed in program files or Add/Remove Software.
I know i can allow this program to run if i allow it in DEP, but im too scared to do that incase it is a virus of some sort. How do i find this blasted program on my system. And how do i fix this problem? :(
Note: I am able to get the desktop and explorer to apear if i go to "Task Manager" and "Run New Task" then type Explorer and click OK.
thanx.

Hi i have the same probablem i installed a couple of programs and when i go to restart my computer it will boot slow then appear and not having a desktop. i can go to task manager to . The dep is what is causing the trouble if anyone knows what to do please help.
