Having recently found my pc infested with the PE_JEFFO.A virus, *sigh*, i was told to start the pc in safe mode and delete the infected files, but wont this just delete the whole file as if safe mode wasnt on at all? Some are the files are very important and deleting them could do permenant damage, so whats the difference in deleting them in safe mode and deleting them in normal windows xp? Sorry if this is a kind of noobie question but its been on my mind a lot and im just not sure what to do! Please help!

hi thuggie, besides deleting virii in safe mode you should also clean your cache, defrag, scan disk, and scan your machine in safe mode, because you are using less resources than in regular mode, and it will also clean up your swap files. all the best, murve
