DiamondCS DelLater

DelLater is the ideal program to use when you can't delete a file, no matter how hard you try. This is usually because an active process has an open handle to the file which prevents it from being deleted. Normally if you close down all running programs you'll find that most files will then be free to delete, but that's not always the case, and in some cases it may even be a trojan that's preventing itself from being deleted.

Thanks for those Links...

Dellater - doesn't say for XP - does it work ok? - looks easy to use

DrDelete - also doesn't say for XP - larger than Dellater - 142Kb compared with 3Kb for Dellater - looks more complicated

Have you actually used either of these?

Lesley, found those links early this
morning.
I did not have a chance to try them,
or have unwanted running files to test them.

They were found at another security site.
Hope it helps at least one person
rid themselves of evil spyware, virus,
and trojan active files.

DOS Delete...
DOS Delete version 1.0
http://home.earthlink.net/~rmbox/Reticulated/Toys.html
DOS based Freeware for Windows 95/98/ME by rmbox

Deletes Archive, Hidden, Read-only files and all their combinations.
Deletes any and all "access denied" files.

Does not delete system files by design.
(Yes, that means "access denied" system files as well)

Click on dd-setup.com to install.

After the install there will be a ReadMe file in the Toy Box folder located in the Start button's Programs menu.

To delete a file, right click on the desired file and select "Delete with ms-dos" from the menu.

Warning - files deleted with ms-dos will not be recoverable.

Might not work with XP if this is not DOS based but NT??.......
