I have started deleting a security package on my hard drive, provided by my new internet provider. having deleted most of the files there approx 10 sub folders with .dll files, that will not delete. they are keeping a firwall running, i believe, somewhere in the background and preventing me accessing the internet. F-secure is the name of the anti virus software. ANy suggestions/advise on how to delete these files would be appreciated, i am trying to avoid wiping my pc back to factory settings.

Thanks in advance
Roy

How are you "deleting" this program? You should remove it properly by Removing it through Add/Remove programs.

Hi, this problem is developing from a post yesterday "internet connection for PC", for further details.

I have deleted the software from the add/remove programes, originally. It is now no longer listed there.

cmd> ipconfig /renew syas i have an error with the socket which i believe means i still have a firewall running. I have disabled firwalls and antivirus software also.

I'm going to download unlocker 1.8.7 and SDFix.exe for later on and hopefully get some progress this evening, can you think of anything else??

Thanks for responding

Glad to hear it worked out well Roy.

Sorry I didn't elaborate on the tool, I was in a bit of a rush and had to dash.
