Data Miners found by AdAware

I use SpyWareBlaster, and up until 10 days or so ago, I could go for a week without AdAware finding anything. Now, though, AdAware is finding 8-10 per day. Both data bases are up-to-date. Has anyone else noticed this?

I use AdAware for routine maintenance once a week. The number of data miners the utility finds varies; sometimes a dozen, sometimes half a dozen, other times none. Data miners are essentially cookies. Just delete them and forget it. :)

I understand that. My question was aimed more at SpyWareBlaster. It doesn't seem to be stopping them like it used to.

I also use AA and SB. Are you sure your SB is up to date? I haven't noticed any more than the usual amount of data miners.

Dated 10-25-04. I update every Saturday unless I see somewhere that a new update is out, then I download it. Just ran AdAware again and it found two more tracking cookies. So- that's nine today. Way more than I used to get in a week. I just built this thing about two weeks ago, and I've left security at default, but that's how I've always had it on my other comps.

With each update, Spybot and Ad-Aware add more "Data Miners" cookies to their list that they search for. Some of them are quite harmless cookies inserted by ADs on web pages that you use.
