The last time that I had to update firefox, I had to uninstall it and reinstall it. Shouldn't there be a feature built into firefox where you can click on it and it checks for updates, then udates it? I've heard that there is an icon in the upper right, but the only icon i've ever seen there is one that take me to their web site to download the full version. Firefox is a pain..!!! At least microsoft release patches in an easy to use way.

Under 'Options' 'Advanced' - "Periodically Check for Updates To: Firefox , My Extensions & Themes"

.. and you'll see a green arrow icon on the upper right.

"Firefox is a pain..!!!"

It seems that some folks have problems no matter what software they're using

Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

Thx, that does the trick. You have to admit though in this day and age where security is paramount, it would be nice to have it where it isn't so burried in menues.

Other browsers, too. . .

Browser vulnerabilities are making the rounds this week, as different threats have surfaced for Mozilla, Firefox, Netscape, and Internet Explorer.

Well.. I don't know about 'buried' - always a learning curve with any application. They're all about the same.. and all a bit different

by the way mvoltage, you can opt for auto updates under the same settings box and on installation with firefox. It also checks for updates for your extensions etc.
Better than IE in a way...But I like it both ways...
