My internet search is hijacked. First when i typed a search in the address bar, an unknown website would come up, sometimes perfectnav.com and other random names. Now when i search for something, nothing at all comes up, it says this page cannot be displayed and the address bar says "http:///?%20george%20bush" if i was searching for george bush. When I click the search button on the toolbar for the search page to come up on the left side of the screen, its says Cool Web Search, then has the options to search. I have already used the CWS shredder thing, i ran ad-aware, i dont know what else to do??

also, i ran hijack this, here is my logfile:

Have you the latest updated CWShredder? Did you click "Fix" for your attempt to clear CoolWebSearch (rather than "Scan Only")?
Go to
www.merijn.org
and scroll to 24 Jan 2004 and download the file:
CoolWWWSearch.SmartKiller removal tool and run it BEFORE you run the updated CWShredder.Ensure that Ad-aware is also updated and run it again if necessary.
Try Trojan Remover 6.1.6 - it's a freetrial program (for 30 days)after which you pay the subscription or discontinue using it. You can find it at
www.simplysup.com/tremover/

i appreciate the help, but the problem hasn't gone away. i have tried every thing, spybot, adaware, hijackthis, trojan remover, cwshredder..any other ideas?

now when i search using the address bar, it says the website cant be displayed, but when i press the search button and the side menu for searching comes up and works, but another page comes up (http://search-company.com/search.php) with different search results
