I recently had a bout with the W32/Pate.b virus, and since removing it with Mcafee Stinger, I am unable to stay connected with my dialup modem longer than a few minutes, I reinstalled the connection, and went over all the settings many times. Has anybody had a similar problem? More importantly, does anyone know of a solution? I know it's a problem on my end, because I tried the same account (with the same ISP) on a different computer, and had no problems.

I have noticed that no one has responed to your question. I really don't know very much about this, but I had a really big problem over these last couple of days trying to stay connected. I thought I would give you my story and maybe or maybe not be helpful to you. I was getting disconnected every 30 seconds to maybe 2 minutes. It was terrible.
I thought it was the new upgrade to my CallWave that was causing my problem. After they had me uninstall the CallWave program and I reinstalled it, I had to enter my personal info again. Then when they had sent me a conformation, I relized that I forgot to give them the correct new address that I had just gotten from my internet provider. You see, a couple of days ago I had this big problem with losing my dialup toolbar and connection and ended up having to establish a new connection. That was the same time I had started having trouble staying connected. I had forgotten to change my new address in my CallWave account. I have had no problem since then. I hope this will help and I'm sorry if it doesn't.
