Specs: Windows 7
my computer has been infected by a virus, the virus changes folders to 240kb applications. this only affects folders in external media though like my memory sticks because folders in the computer are just fine. there are 2 unknown folders created in the memory stick named "quone" and "hakud". please assist how to get rid of this virus and maybe recover folders, before it infects our whole network. i dont know if temporarily disabling my antivirus and using one of the many online scans will help. thanx!!

If it's on the memory stick then plug in the stick, go to "Computer" and right-click the USB stick and choose "Format".
If the virus is on the computer, try scanning the computer for viruses. I usually don't use online scans unless they are from a trusted company like Avast! or AVG.

The only way to completely eradicate a virus is to reformat the hard drive, since anti-virus programs only detect known virii and some viruses can get around them.

I.T guy gone rogue.
