My computer will not boot up. It goes to the windows screen with the moving little cursor thing and then back to the page that says start in safe mode, normal, last good configuration, etc. No matter which one I choose it does the same thing. I also was able to get ahold of a system recovery cd that my sister had (we have the same computer) and I ran it and it still does the same thing. I have gotten to the BIOS page and looked at everything and it's booting from the hard drive and I ran a hardware inspectation test (something like that) and I passed the test. I have no idea what to do so if anyone has ANY ideas they would be greatly appreciated! Thank you again!

What kind of Recovery CD did you use, and what process did you follow? What happened immediately preceding this problem?

What a shame" - Shinedown

You never listed the model of the HP laptop, google on-line how to do a system recovery within the laptop itself using eg: the f2 key or whichever one is required to activate system recovery
Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers
