computer will not boot in safe mode

February 7, 2011 at 16:10:40
Specs: Windows XP
I just seem to have gotten a virus (bankerfox.a) or something like that. I tried to run my virus protection (symantec) and was only able to get so far and then the program seemed to freeze. I rebooted my machine successfully twice only to have the virus take over quickly. Frustrated I tried to reboot one more time and could not get past the windows screen where it showed the working indicator working but would never boot any further.I then tried to reboot in safe mode and got to the multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition etc. etc. etc. several times over the whole screen with the last comands changing on every line. It stays frozen on that screen and will not move past that.
I would appreciate any help possible

try safe mode with can take from 5 minutes to an hour for the PC to load depending how infected it is. Have patience.
If that doesn't work, you may want to remove the drive and slave it to another PC and remove the viruses that way.

Some HELP in posting on plus free progs and instructions Cheers
