Computer typing z's by itself????

Dell Inspiron 1100

Specs: Windows XP, Celeron 256 Ram
I logged onto my computer tonight and everytime I tried to type something in the address bar or anywhere else....my computer just kept typing z's...it just kept going and never stopped. I did a system restore and it's not doing it anymore....if it was this would all be z's. I was just wondering if anybody knows what that was? Was it a virus or something?

'Sticky' is an adjective, describing the noun 'key'

Gee...thanks.

I didn't even use the "z" key...so how could it get stuck???? I'd start typing "www"....and the first "w" would type and then I'd get "zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz"

Do you have spare keyboard? If so use it to see if the same problem recurs.

If you have a key that is stuck here is what you do. First turn off your pc, then disconnect you're keyboard and push in the tabs/clips at the back. Then stand up and hold your keyboard about knee hight and let it drop.
That will unstick a stuck key.
