Help everytime I start my computer it gives me options like -safe mode -safe mode with networking -safe mode with command prompt -last configuration -normal i tried everything and it won't go past... i can't boot in safemode it has a list of these documents and restarts and ask me those same list... HELP!!! i really want to retrieve my files... anyway i can savage my computer?

That sheds more light on the subject. You should have a dell XP install CD that came with the PC. Why not use that and try a repair install? All you should lose are your critical updates and possibly the service packs which you can install when it's back up and running. i am haveing the same problems and i put in a virus protection and set it to boot from cdrom it brings me to drive medic and ask me to click yes i want to use drive medic or no i dont but it wont let me click yes or no what should i do i have a custom computer with windows xp
