HI,

My computer has two problems which I need help with:

a) I keep getting junk email related to the web surfing I do. For example, If I visit job websites, I start getting junk email related to jobs. That too on all my email addresses, sometime yahoo, sometimes hotmail, sometimes my personal POP3 account.

This problem has been happening since the last several months.

b)Yesterday I downloaded some software and then subsequently have deleted it to the best of my knowledge, i.e. add/remove programs, and then deleted the folder from program files.

However, my 'home page' to which IE opens up is some http://searchcentral.com. I keep going to the settings in IE and changing it, yet whenever I restart my computer it goes back to http://searchcentral.com

I have cookie wall running on my computer and also Spyware Blaster, but not sure if it is actually running or not.

Hope someone has some suggestions

Thanks
RJ

Use CWShredder

See http://www.computing.net/security/wwwboard/forum/9116.html

You have spyware that has probably been on your PC for awhile, the sucky part of this is your going to either have to go through the remove me method or keep adding rules to delete the sites you do not wish to get email from.

Thanks hacad for the post. It solved the SECOND problem of searchcentral.com

What about the first problem of getting the spam?...what software can I install to remove this...or what is the procedure?

In general, what is the ULTIMATE Security one can have on their computer...serious responses only please.

Thanks
RJ
