I am not the most well informed person and I am well aware of that. I do however know that something is wrong with my computer. I have tried running scans on it and they show nothing, but strange things keep happening. The cursor stutters and stops, computer freezes often now my cd drive won't work. I know it is not a great computer as was eluded to in a response I got, but it has to do until January. I do not download from the internet much at all. I try to clean out the garbage each time I'm on also. Please if anyone can be constructively helpful to me I would appreciate it.

check wires and connections,
check hardware, drives, video board, and make sure fans are not clog and running well, check free space on drive 100mb to 300mb is good for starters, depending on size of drive(s),
check swapfile size and amount of ram being used in background by other programs, disable extra startups if needed, run scandisk for and errors,
run sfc to check for corrupt system files and repair from win cd,
run win scanreg for errors, if none ,ignore, reboot in safemode (f8), run defrag (defragmenter)
if you've ran virus and spyware scans already, and no errors found, skip for now,
empty windows temp folder,
empty temporary internet files folder,
empty trash bin,:)

I'm not one of those who think Bill Gates is the devil. I simply suspect that if Microsoft ever met up with the devil, it wouldn't need an interpreter

Yeah, there are still a few ; )
A lot of posts end up here that would probably be better addressed in their specific Windows forum - there's no obvious indication of malware (although that hasn't been ruled out)
