Specs: Windows XP, intel pentium 4 512MB

I have recently noticed that my computer is running very slow in terms of loading web pages, opening files and folders, streaming videos etc, pretty much when trying to do anything on it.

I've run a virus scan using Bit Defender(which is my antivirus software) and also using Malwarebytes Anti-malware and deleted/quarantened anything that came up. This has still however not made thigs better and i'm stumped as to what else to do to sort it out.

My OS is windows XP service pack 3 and I still have a quarter of my hard drive space free.

It'd be really helpful if someone could point me in the right direction as I'm no expert on this. If I could just find out how to find out what the problem is, it would be very useful.

I've had a similar problem before and was asked to post a Hijackthis log, so i'll post another if it's any help:

You could try scanning with Hitman Pro 3.5. and also Smart Defrag And besides smart defrag I would try CCleaner
