So for a few weeks now, my internet explorer browser hasnt been working, but i didnt care because i use Firefox anyways, now for a week or so firefox doesnt work, but my AOL browser does.. i have a feeling it wont for very long? i can run my internet explorer and firefox if i go into task manager and end about 15 processes (i simply choose the ones i havent normally been use to seeing) im not sure which one is prohibiting my computer.. i ran a spyware/trojan finding thing and found "Hijacker.internetExplorerZoneHiJack". this doesnt sound good, what can i do? also found a few "tracking cookies".
Im thinking i should have renewed my AntiVirus Software when it prompted me to.

Sounds to me like you neglected alot of things like critical updates and so on. Also, if you don't need AOL, I would suggest uninstalling that too. Their software is murder on PC's and really gets imbedded (same as Norton & McAfee)

First thing you can do is use the free basic spyware progs which can be found in my red link. Update and run them as per instructions.

Then I would suggest downloading Avast free to your desktop. Then uninstall you AV which is outdated, install Avast and let it do a bootscan on reboot and move EVERYTHING it finds into the chest.

If you were using Norton, I would suggest that you go to their site and get their uninstaller, plus D/L regcleaner:
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4...
and clean out all instances of it.

Now see how your PC runs on reboot...let us know. If you are still having problems, we'll keep trying to help untill it is solved...Good Luck

Some HELP in posting on Cnet plus free progs and instructions Glad to Help!
