Hi,

I got infected with a very bad virus. HOT SEX, Error
Cleaner, Privacy Protector, Spyware&Malware Protection
icons appeared on my desktop while some windows were
opening/closing from nowhere. I panicked and pushed
the Restart button, and from now on, 10 seconds after the
computer's startup, it freezes completely; I even hear the
fan/HDD inside the computer case slow down. The mouse
still works, but that's all.

Even if I try to boot in safe mode, when it comes the time
to choose the safe mode, the keyboard no longer
responds; enter, arrows, I cannot choose the mode.

Now, I'm on my Mac (thank god Macs exists) and still
searching how to get rid of this s---.

I can't even run HijackThis! : (

Thank you for your answers

I Highly Recommend reformat. Looks like the virus may have deleted your mouse and keyboard .DLL files.... for next time make sure you backup your documents so you don't loose everything.

For lock Keyboard at safe mode option.
Bro, is your keyboard USB? If it is go to bios setup and enable USB keyboard. When at safemode scan your pc using antispyware. I recommend malwarebytes and spybot S&D. Good luck!

If you have an actual XP install disc, put it in and install xp in the same partition as the OS without reformatting, you will be warned that its not good to install that way.
Then after the installation you will be able to save all the stuff off your HD you need so you can burn it to CD's or DVD. After you get everything you need off that drive I would suggest a fresh install.
Make sure to check the cd's or DVD for viruses before putting your saved info back on. Another safe way might be to put all the things you want to save into different folders (BEFORE you burn them onto any media discs) and scan the folders before burning them to discs.

Good luck...it does work, I've done it a few times quite awhile back and saved all info before reformatting.

Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers
