Compaq presario C700 wont start

I have a Compaq presario c700 with vista and
it is constantly restarting. It restarts and says
it is the trying to configure updates, it never
gets past 0% complete then restarts. I don't
know what is wrong it is not my computer, so i
am not sure if it is a virus. I cannot get it to
restart even in safe made. Please help

I think the last time when the system was shutdown it was
selected to install the latest updates and was switched off
before it did, hence it is continuing to install by connecting to
the internet.
- It might take time depending upon your internet speed.
- Try to disconnect the computer form the internet if it has
any, and then try to boot it in safe or normal mode.
- Try to stop the update from being installed in the system
tray and shut down the system successfully.
- Hope this will help.
