Comment: Boyfriend's computer has gone crazy. I advised him to disconnect his comp. from the internet for safety, so i'm typing this up for him. He will push button to start computer. Immediately there is beeping from the tower. Not steady beeping but erratic. The computer proceeds to start up normally (with beeping though) and he will select a user. It goes to that user's desktop, where all appears normal (still beeps). Suddenly, in the lower left hand corner of the screen, just above the Start bar, in lime green text, it begins to go through words like "HP" "EMail" and all kinds of things like that. It goes through a bunch of words so fast he can't hardly read them. Then, it will open up his internet browser by itself, multiple times. He uses Netscape browser, which implements in-window Tabs like firefox. Each window of the browser which comes up opens up to four blank tabs. To add to that, the computer is typing "QYTREW" over and over again in the address bars. I told him to push Ctrl-Alt-Delete to see which processes were running, but Ctrl-Alt-Dlt did nothing. No task manager came up, the computer just continued beeping, typing and opening windows (It also, by itself, opened My Computer and the Recycle Bin). This happens even when he unplugged his internet cable modem. When he tried to click an icon on his desktop, it instead highlighted all icons up to the one that he was trying to click. Things got so out of control that he got too freaked out to do anything more with it and powered down his computer, unplugged it from the wall and the modem, and turned off the modem. Please give us some help!
