Clicking search results cause popup

Emmett_K February 5, 2009 at 05:21:32
Specs: Windows XP Pro SP3

I've managed to download some sort of adware
I think. Any time I click on any search
results from a search engine (mostly google)
it causes a random popup page to come up.

I've ran lavasoft's ad-aware and it found a
number of browser hijacker's and I removed
them, but that doesn't seemed to have helped.

Any idea how to fix this?

Have you tried spybot search & destroy? It will probably remove the notorious thing.

You can also check your hosts file which is located inside windows/system32/drivers/etc/

If you find any ip address except 127.0.0.1 then you can remove it.
