About 2 weeks ago my DVD and CD drives quit working on my main computer. The message said the dives were being controlled by another program. I had to prepare a document, so I loaded it on a zip drive and ran it on my backup machine. Several days later it too lost it's CD drive. It do not give the same message however.

I had loaded Demon, ram drive on the first machine some time before the drives quitting and had removed it as I no longer needed it.

Is this a virus? It not, any suggestions?

Thanks
Blair

Start - Control Panel - Open System Icon -
Hardware Tab - Device Manager - Click the plus sign in front of DVD AND CD listings.
After it opens Right click and scan for
Hardware Changes.
If needed click update Driver and follow
directions. You will need the CD that came
with your computer.
I use a AntiVirus and Firewall.
Also Ad-Aware and Hijack this when needed.
Post logs for Hijack this at -
