Can't uninstall McAfee

I had the demo McAfee Internet Suite and when it expired I bought the Kaspersky Internet Security 2006. I went thru the Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs to uninstall McAfee, what it did (apparently), because it disappeared from the list of installed programs.
I then proceeded to install Kaspersky, but the installation says that I have to remove McAfee first. As long as it doesn't appear in the list anymore I went to MSCONFIG -> Services and unchecked all those starting with "McAfee...", rebooted and tried to install Kaspersky again. But it keeps saying that McAfee must be uninstalled first.
Is there anything I am not aware of? Can anybody help, please. Thanks in advance.

Easy to find the uninstall steps... Go to nai's website, and Technical Support. All you need to do is use the drop-down arrows to find your product and the Category. Pretty straightforward. I found it really quickly.
Life is more painless for those who are brainless.

From my experience the nai links don't help too much. There's an automatic removal tool that you can use and that is successful at least for me all the time (I'm doing tech support over the phone and we often have cases when McAfee doesn't want to go away): http://www.myfixes.com/articles/mcrem
