Hi,
After cleaning some virus and deletion of all temp files, I run into a problem that I can't seem to run any exe program from windows. It complains that it can't find the specific exe file, but it is actually there. I went into safe mode with command prompt, and was able to run the same program in the specific directory within the command window. I searched some of the website and looks like exefix08.com seems to be the solution for me, however I can't seem to find anywhere to download as it was old Please explain the overhead between windows and command prompt and how I can fix my problem here.
Many thanks,
-Dongsheng
Go to the link below and scroll down to line 12 (left column) and click on "EXE (lnk and regfile) Fix for Windows XP" to download a reg file fix. Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it and answer yes to the import prompt.

If you can't run the file do the following:
Press CTRL-ALT-DEL and open Task Manager. Once there, click File, then hold down the CTRL key and click New Task (Run). This will open a Command Prompt window. Enter REGEDIT.exe and press Enter. Once regedit is open click File>Import and locate that reg file fix, hilite it and click Open.Tufenuf

Thanks a lot. It works perfectly. Is there any way for me to learn what's going on here?
Cheers,
