I am hoping someone can help me. I have had browser re-directs and explorer shut down messages, also my pc is running very slow. I use AVG anti-virus, Zonealarm, Spybot S & D, Adaware, Spyware blaster, CCleaner, CWShredder, Bug off and Hijack this. All have ran well together for a couple of years now, no problems and all are updated either automatically or by me manually. Windows is up to date with SP1.
I found 3 viruses, in AVG they came up as 'Dmggn.exe', 'kilacln.exe' and something in system32 with a long string of numbers. AVG didn't delete them or clean, no option was available for anything after a long scan. So I manually looked for them and deleted them as well as in the registry though I’m not confident with deleting files in the there. Looking at past posts here I seen that it would be a good thing to run all the virus detection programs in safe mode. I done this, lastly with hijack this. I deleted things recommended by the hijack this log file website. The only one to re-appear each time is this
O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{708FF3A3-E5BF-44C2-AB6C-49F105B42F43}: NameServer = 85.255.114.82 85.255.112.168
When I browse the internet it takes 2 or 3 attempts to get to the web page because I am re-directed all the time to advertising sites with this number in the bar at the bottom.
I tried tonight to use a online scan, Panda hung up so I tried Trend Micro which ran for a long time but sought out these:
SPYWARE_TRAK_HSLABLOG
SPYWARE_TRAK_PWSTEALERSo those are gone but as soon as I browsed I had the same re-direction. My homepage hasn’t changed. The only difference I see is the browsing and slowness of webpages. Thank god I use my laptop for banking is all I can say!
I hope I’ve gave enough Info.
I hope someone can help!
Nicole.

try this . .
In windows control panel. If you are using Windows XP's Category View, select the Network and Internet Connections category otherwise double click on Network Connections..Then right click on your default connection, usually local area connection for cable and dsl, and left click on properties,Double-click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) item and select "Obtain DNS servers automatically"..
Press OK twice to get out of the properties screen and reboot ..

Thank you for your suggestion but sadly it hasn't worked and I am still being sent here there and everywhere when browsing. If you or anyone can think of anything else then I'll be very grateful. Thanks again.

Thanks very much Gooogle for your help. I deleted a couple of foreign entries in the hosts file. It all seems fine now :)
