cant reset HomePage

I'm new to computing.
I using XP as the operation system. I'm not able to set default homepage. It keeps getting reset. Also a pop up keeps poping up making a constant clicking noise. Any help????

hi,
OpenIE and type in the address bar the page u want to be ur home page ,when u are there up the top click tools then internet options.Thenlick use current and the apply and that should reset ur homepage..

I had a similar problem yesterday but with Win 2000. I stumbled upon how to do it. Under tools/internet options I chose the "use blank" option for homepage. I then hit the "home" button on IE browser. It went to a blank page. Then I went back into tools and reset the homepage to what I wanted. See if it works.
