My computer is running on windows xp. Yesturday I noticed in my toolbar that my antivirus and firewall weren't open and I tried openning and nothing happened. Also I noticed that "12Ghost Popup killer" keeps blocking a popup every twenty minutes or so. This program has never done this at such a high occurrance. Can anyone determine whether there is a problem?

Seems to me there is a problem if your anti-virus isn't functioning properly. Disable the pop-up blocker and see if that makes a difference. Then, post back. Life is more painless for those who are brainless.

We need the system info: 1- which windows program are you using? EG: XP, 98, ME.etc (if you right click on my computer and go to properties you'll find the info.) 2- SP1 or SP2? 3- What is your AV and Firewall? 4- Have you used any spyware cleaners? If so, which ones? If we get that info, it gives us a better chance to find a solution. Hopefully my advice will help you...Please post back with your results....thanks

I'm running windows xp professional. My av is avg antivirus (grifsoft). My firewall is called spywall. I don'tknow what you mean by "sp1 or sp2". I have noticed that the language set for my antivirus is set to chinese (simplified) and I tried to change it to english and nothing happens. Many other things are locked to. As for the popup issue, I believe the spywall was taking care of them and was not alerting me when it had stopped the popups.

The problem has been fixed now. Thanks for writing. I just reinstalled the antivirus and firewall and everything's okay now.
