Can't Install Norton / old version

July 21, 2005 at 16:30:39
Specs: XP

I receive this message: "A version on Norton AntiVirus or Symantec AntiVirus is slready installed on this machine. You must first remove it before Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition 9.0.1 can be installed."

I have removed any symantec programs from my computer, ran a free antivirus program to ensure a virus isn't causing this, and used symantec's rnav utility. I still can't install the new program. Any ideas?

Couple of things...What previous version did you have? How did you "remove" it?

after uninstalling the old NAV, did you uninstall live update and syamantec registration in add/remove as well?

Norton is GIGANTIC. I still have bits and
pieces on my machine. Do a system
search for Norton and Symantec just to
make sure that you got the whole thing
