Comment: I am unable to launch AVG Control Center. When I try to install the latest version I receive a message: Installation Failed. 1 error occured Error: Checking of state of the item file avgcc.exe failed File opening failed. %FILE%="C:\Program Files\Frisoft\AVG Free|avgcc.exe" Permission Denied In addition I am unable to uninstall my current version: 7.1.394 I would appreciate any help

Reply: (edit)I think you need to ensure that AVG 7.1 has been properly removed. Search both your files and registry for AVG and delete anything you find. Be sure to save any files (with a note of their location) and to backup the registry first. When you have done this, reboot and install AVG 7.5 DerekW

Reply: (edit)Yes, it was Trojan horse Generic and it had Lexmark_X79-55 in the processes. Hopefully it is completely gone. AVG picked it up when I ran a virus scan. J
