Can't get rid of a trojan virus

Hi - I have just installed Norton Antivirus 2009 and still have a virus (trojan I guess) that is generated pop-ups / unders all the time? Any help?

Turn off System Restore, delete temporary files, reboot in safe mode & run a full scan with Norton. Restart & see if the problem's gone - remember to restart System restore. If it's still there you may need to use a different scanner - most security vendors provide some on-line version.

Many thanks. Have tried the re-boot and scan in safe mode, however, the pop ups are still being served (should note the pop up blocker is enabled).

Other than trying the recommended software above, is there anything else I can try?
