Specs: Windows XP, 2.40 GHz/1.87 GB
I have a desktop computer XP and a laptop Vista and neither will take the AVG Internet Security 2011 I purchased at Walmart. It is licensed for 3 computers. I am sure I've gotten the old free version off. It will download part of the way and then I get a AVGIDSAGENT could not be stopped error. I espeically want to get it on my desktop computer as when the trial version of AVG expire they kept sending me all sorts of virus and trojan theat warnings. So I'm afraid to use that computer except to try and download this new internet security I bought. It's a MSI error so the AVG tech support said I had to pay them $49.95 for their help and I can't afford that.

Hi you will need to download the AVG removal tool using the 32bit or 64bit? which ever you have from this link.
Then try a new install download.
If it won't download because you removed the free version you will have to try downloading the free version again and then use the removal tool.

Be patient too, I did an install and update of avg 2011 today, and it took nearly an hour to install and update because the actual program of avg has had a couple of even though you install your new store bought copy, it may install it, check for updates...realize there's a core program update (plus the actual virus definitions)....causing it to uninstall what you just installed, re-install the new downloaded updated version and then update again! At times the progress bar did not move for quite awhile and I thought it had froze....but it didn't, just had to be patient.

I haven't been able to install updates for a couple of days. I have uninstalled AVG, tried to reinstall using the cd that I bought along with the program. and it will only install a few portions. I've tried overe and over again. I bought 2 years of the Home Premium in April of this year..

I have the e-mail that contains the product key. Please help. I hate to go unprotected with only minimal protection.
