Alright, I can not download a thing. It prompts me to open or save once I click either one it acts like its going to open or save, but then disappears. I cant open files such as attachments to emails and that sort. I think this all started when I deleted Stop Sign Virus Protection, but then I couldnt connect to the internet. So I restored back and the Stop Sign now has corrupted files, but if I delete it I can't connect for some reason. I tried several different things Ive reseached and nothing has worked. Any suggestions?

Download Malwarebytes; VIPRE Rescue & M$ Security Essentials.

Run Malwarebytes & VIPRE Rescue to clean the system, once the machine is malware-free, install Microsoft Security Essential. If you lose your connection or ability to browse the internet after cleaning out your machine, try the suggestion below to repair your Winsock & also reset the TCP/IP protocol.

For Winsock:

Click Start & go to the Start Search dialog box
Type: cmd & right-click cmd to run it as administrator
Type: netsh winsock reset & press ENTER
Type: Exit & press ENTER & restart your machine.

TCP/IP protocol:

Use the Winsock steps but use the netsh int ip reset command instead of the netsh winsock reset used in that command.

I thought restoring back allowed you to download with the kicker being that you also get the Stop Sign dilemma back. Well, bummer. Are you sure your inability to download is not firewall related?

I don't think so. I turn off all firewalls and still can't download a thing. I really don't know what to do.

Do you have multiple user accounts on the machine & do you experience the same thing from the "real" Admin account?

using a different PC, download these free tools and burn them onto a CD or put them on a thumbdrive.
1-Revo uninstaller
http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo...
That will allow you to uninstall all instances of the Stop Sign program
2- then do the things mentioned in response 1 to reset your winsock which will help get you back on-line.
3- Download Malwarebytes
http://www.filehippo.com/download_m...
4- Download Avast free
http://www.filehippo.com/download_a...
install it and let it do a bootscan on reboot to find whatever problems still exist.

Delete whatever Anti virus you have because as long as Stop Sign couldn't be ununstalled, nothing will run right on your PC. Turn off any firewall for now and remember to turn it on after the infections are cleared.

Good Luck

YES!!! I even ran it again today, no virus at all, no malware, no nothing. Running awesome, other than the downloading part. A little confused...
