Comment: I just tried to create my rescue disks on AVG 6.0 free edition and it won't work. I started out with a case of brand new disks and formatted them. Then I tried to create the rescue disks and it created the first one which is the bootable one but it ran out of disk space so it said to insert another disk and click continue. So I did that and it said the rescue disk could not be created. The only thing on it was something called Test.txt (i think). But there was nothing in it and was 0kb. I can't figure out what's wrong. Does anyone know?

Reply: (edit)I had similar problems with AVG Rescue sets some time back. Perhaps a reinstall of AVG would help?

Reply: (edit)I currently have the same problem, but my OS is Win Me. I have tried a reinstall, and also completely uninstalling my old copy of AVG, and installing the latest Free edition. I believe the problem is that one of the files that goes to the floppies (avg6.avi) is now 1475KB, and hence too big to fit on one disk. I've asked Grisoft for help, but as this is a Free version, they do not provide technical support. Maybe they will fix this bug in a future update.

Reply: (edit)I had the same problem but here is the fix Use "Smart Format" from http://members.tripod.com/ieeecrce/innovations99/tformat/ Format one disk normally through windows selecting copy system files for the first AVG Rescue disk. Then Format Second with Smart Format to 1.72. Start AVG Rescue, insert 1.44 floppy and hit continue not format. When it asks for second disk insert 1.72 disk. Problem is the AVG.AVI file; in the latest versions of AVG it's just too big for a diskette (1475 Kb). It'll work now......
