Capt, Thanks for your reply. Yes, I do have AVG 7. When I try to update from the program, it shows that I need to get a priority update. I click to update, and a window comes up saying the dial up connection is timing out. Then it goes to the webpage. I checked on the webpage that I have gone to and it is the same as you listed. I download the file from the site directly, but when I go to the saved file, it says 'it is a binary data file and no known program will open this file'. Today, I also updated my firewall, the free Zone Alarm. I will see if this somehow makes a difference. Thanx for your help. gracepen

Disable the firewall to see if it is causing a problem . Have the same setup AVG works fine with ZA free .

Yes you wont be able to open the update file downloaded from the internet. There is an option in AVG to import that file. Open Updates in AVG. There you will find a button labeled "Folder". Click the button to open a dialog box and go to the folder where u have downloaded the latest update. Select the update and let AVG do the rest. all Virture destorys itself as soon as it ceases to be Longing and Humility. Harut! Marut!
