Norton systemworks 2001PLEASE HELP.
-Q

Go to the Symantec Website or do a Google search for "symclean" which is Symantec's removal tool for Systemworks. You will need to use it to remove all traces of Systemworks before you can install it again. HTH! I am sorry, but I have to ask, Why, and such and old version too? Is it for Ghost?

I highly recommend you use the Symclean and leave it there. The Utilities can and will mess with downloads. In the future, install the Utilities, use them, and uninstall them. That is the only way I would use my NSW again.
In the future try downloading this way:
After you get the download (M$ does not structure its automatic downloads so you can’t do this on an MS download if you are set on automatic download for MS), after download, AS SOON AS YOU SEE THE INSTALL SHIELD, BEFORE YOU CLICK THE INSTALL ICON, #1. log off the net, #2. disable AV (right click tray icon), #3. then ctrl-alt-delete to close AV in close-program, THEN (and only then) #4. click on the install procedure. Otherwise your AV might read the install as an invader and mess with it. Then manually shut down for two full minutes.
If you have Norton AV, I'd say use it, but when renewal time comes, try AVG free edition by Grisoft, and update it every three days, also run and update Spybot and Adaware every three days, and use a firewall if you are not:

Probably the reason you are having so much trouble removing NSW 2001 is that is has become corrupted...because it is not updated. Seriously, consider letting it go. Disk Clean-up, Scan Disk and Deframenter will serve you better than NSW.2001.corrupted.uninstallable
