Cannot set a restore point

Specs: Windows Vista, 200/2GB
"the shadow copy provider had an unexpected error while trying to process the specified operation (0x8004230f)" I am trying to restore to earlier setting because after downloading the media rights for a movie(torrrent reactor) my laptop started opening random web pages. I disabled IE8...they continued. I went into WINDOWS\Temp and found several TMP files that will not delete. I uninstalled explorer update....they continued. Spybot id'ed HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-3027396625-2928628509-183579419-1000. there are several other keys, but one (HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-3027396625-2928628509-183579419-CLASSES) is now gone. Any ideas? ps also got these errors(0x80070005 & 0x8000ffff)

Totally how many restore points do your computer has? When did you try restoring your sytem earlier successfully?

Try rebooting your machine and repair install usinng Windows OS disk. And check then if it works.

Thank you :)
