Dear reader,
I have one of the worst viruses ever. I use Avg anti virus software. It picked up the virus, I scanned for it and it somehow located it but i dont know exactly were it is. After it finished scanning it said it could not remove the virus.....it couldnt even go to the quarentine box. What is going on here? This virus does not let me open up any files or excecute certain programs.
I hope this is adaquet information to help you solve my problem. If you need more just ask for it in your response.

Start your PC in 'SAFE MODE' then run AVG again.
To get into safe mode, start the PC and keep tapping the F8 key before the Windows splash screen shows. Select safe mode from the options using you keyboard arrow keys and the enter key.
To get out of safe mode just restart your PC normally.
Post back if this works for you.

Adequate info would include the name of the virus - 'one of the worst viruses ever' isn't much of a description.

If you have internet access and can still use IE, try Panda's Online Scan

I should have also said.....
it helps to post the name of the virus and where in your machine the virus is.
If it's in the 'RESTORE' folder, this is a protected area and no files can be deleted in here (as is). You have to disable system restore (then reboot & re-enable system restore) and that will flush out all of your restore points but also the virus with it.

Instead of all those gyrations, why not boot ion DOS and delete it. Then it's really gone.

Yeah, I know there ain't no DOS. Boot on a floppy.
