Hello, can anyone help with this please?
My pc was recently infected with Spyware. Although i have been able to remove most of it some remnants still remain because when i try to open Symantec AntiVirus it opens then closes immediately. I have read a document somewhere that explains why this happens but stupidly i did not save it (my bad i know) and now i cannot find it. Can anyone tell me why this happens or point me in the right direction?
Thanks everyone.
Agent Smith.

Hello Smith,
The problem you mention has nothing to do with spywares, spywares are not viruses but only sorts of cookies which are sending some information related about your computer.
Norton anti-virus is using a startup protection to avoid this program to be corrupted itself in case your computer will be affected by a virus, effectively some dangerous one's has as mission to destroy first the anti-virus data in order to avoid to be erased.
If you bought your version of Norton anti-virus, I suggest to uninstall totally the program and reinstall it after. In order to have a clean version réinstalled and operating.
Personnally I don't like too much Norton, because of the fact this program use more and more to associate the anti-virus with his original Norton internet security !!! and Symantec for both services are expensives by year.
I prefer Kaspersky anti-virus associated with the freeware Sygate personal firewall........essential is to participe P.Coubertin

Actually, the Sygate free firewall doesn't have updates anymore. You may be better off using Comodo which is also free and boasts to be leak proof.
Hopefully my advice will help you...Please post back with your results....thanks

Imp, spyware is definitely not "some sort of cookies". It is a very dangerous and sophisticated kind of malicious software. Read complete spyware definition to learn more.
