had the win32.zafi.b warning popup. it blocked me from opening norton. someone eventually clicked the warning and not only is norton blocked but internet access is blocked also. ran malicious software remover from microsoft it found alot of problems and cleared them. i ran superantispyware it found alot of problems and cleared them. i cannot get malwarebytes to run on it. warning popup has stopped but i still cannot run norton, open internet, or save any files in other locations, burn them to disc.

You could try downloading Avast free PLUS the updates form their site. Also download winsockfix and LSP fix. You can find these listed in my signature. Put them on a thumbdrive or cd and run them on the infected PC.
I would start by installing avast free and allow it to do a bootscan on reboot and move all it finds to the chest. Then you could use the winsock or the lsp fix to fix your connection. Then I would suggest dropping Norton and just using Avast IMO...much better realtime virus warnings and NO scheduled scans.
If you decide to drop norton, be sure to use the uninstaller from their website or you will be plagued with numerous different problems if you just try uninstalling it in add/remove.Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers

found nutcracker family virus/worm. could not move to chest something like rpc error so i deleted it
stillscanning

i cannot figure out how to run a bootscan with avast. i open it and it just looks a cd player skin. i ran that anyhow. i ran it and super antispyware multiple times until they could not find any more problems. i still cannot do anything. any ideas?
