Hi

I run Win 2000 and I have the process d3bc.exe that I can't stop.

I can't disable the 'Network Security Service' because I received the following message 'Configuration manager: a general internal error occured'
The file d3bc.exe is not in winnt\system32 as showed in the path of the service.

I am trying to disable the service because I am trying since 2 days to remove from IE res://pekww.dll/index.html#96676

I guess that after I managed to stop the service I will do a safe reboot and run highjavkthis to remove the bas stuff. If you have an another idea to remove res://pekww.dll/index.html#96676 without stopping the 'Network Security Service' please tell me.

Help me please

1. Make sure you ran it in safemode. If you don't know how, look it up
2. Try "CWShredder"
3. Run "Spybot: Search and Destroy" and "AdAware". This is something you should do regardless
4. If all else fails, run "Hijack this!" (same people who made "CWShredder") and post the log here.

Note: I fixed a computer one that had a similar problem (I don't remember if it was that particular browser hijacker, though). Unaware of the former option, I ran the programs in the last three steps, with no success. I'd say running hsremove in safe mode would be your best bet.
